We're traveling to the breathtaking Californian coast today for something a little different – an easy, bright and contemporary Korean wedding in Long Beach.

I adore the current styling of the joyful day, full of stylish white touches and accents of fresh green, with a lot of lush foliage and plants, an entire wall of softly flickering candles, and bridesmaids in mint green.

For her wedding outfit, Becca opted for any modern twist on the Korean hanbok, traditionally worn on special occasions as well as for celebrations. Becca's graceful design in white with floral printed silk and tulle was by, having a delicate jacket to put on during the reception, along with a simple, long veil.

The bridesmaids wore matching strapless, sweetheart neckline sage green bridesmaid dresses, and along with Becca, they carried elegant bouquets of white calla lilies and hypericum berries, with sea holly, eucalyptus, grasses, and a lot of wonderful foliage – all developed by Ema Parker of.

"My closest friend from middle school (who's still my closest friend today), Kristen, comes with an older brother named Noel. Noel and Chris were within the same grade level and they were friends. This was how I found know who Chris is a middle school, but we didn't officially meet before the summer before my freshman year in senior high school."

"Noel and Chris were chilling out, and I was chilling out with Kristen, and we met at Kristen and Noel's house eventually. That's when my crush on Chris started! I thought he am cute and was excited that I'd see him around on campus in senior high school."

"Nothing happened for any while next because I was both pretty shy, and didn't see one another very often – since I was indifferent grades/classes."

"But my sophomore year, Chris and I got put within the same Math class (I was advanced for my grade) as well as in some magical way I was then paired together by our teacher as study buddies for the class' final exam."

“This was how I got his number (thanks, Mrs. C!). The summer after my sophomore year was when things began."

"We hung out much more often and continued dates, after which on August 11th, 2006, Chris officially inquired about being his girlfriend (in Korean) not to mention I said yes! The rest is history!"

Ahead of the ceremony, Becca and Chris met for a first look, and Chris looked super-smart in a classic black tie. I do so always love how couples' photographers capture these emotionally charged moments.

Becca and Chris's brilliant photographer was, whose sensitive, narrative style lent itself perfectly to the couple's gorgeous day.

"I still recall the moment I felt like I fell deeply in love with Chris. It was a short moment a couple of months after we had gotten together, whenever we had driven to the campus to experience badminton at our school's courts over the weekend."

Before we got out of the car, within the split-second moment of silence, Chris said out of the blue, 'You're my closest friend and I enjoy you.' It melted my heart and was precisely what I was thinking in my head. That's when I knew I had really strong feelings for him.”

"For Chris, he admits that: 'Becca was my first love. But that first love has evolved into this type of strong and fortified bond that it's unfair to simply describe the very first moment I felt that love."

"Afer everything we've been and grown through, the moments that reaffirm that what I have is rare would be the simple ways she makes me laugh together with her snort-giggling and silly dancing throughout the house.'"

Becca and Chris were supported within the planning of the day by Shirley Han, and also the backdrop for that ceremony in The Modern's bright and airy loft space would be a wall of shelves dotted with vases of foliage and straightforward white candles, having a woven wall hanging within the the the center.

"Chris proposed on our 10th anniversary, August 11th, 2016. I had no idea this was going to happen because I didn't yet come with an official job."

"Anytime Chris and I would discuss our future, being together for any good amount of your time by now, we always had said that people wanted to become financially responsible and move ahead only when I was able to pay the wedding and life we wanted for ourselves."

"In the spring of 2016, I received my teaching credentials from San Diego State University, and Chris, and I had chosen to move in together having a friend of ours, Melanie, in Orange County."

"I spent the entire summer searching for teaching jobs in Orange County and didn't find any opportunities besides substitute teaching."

"I figured it was my best way in with any district, as well as figured that Chris and I could always wait another year before getting engaged. What I didn't know was that Chris has been planning on proposing on our 10th anniversary all along!"

"He invested some time off work and planned a surprise visit to Sequoia National Park, that I thought ended up being to celebrate our anniversary – only to discover that my sister, his brother, my cousins, and closest friends, were all there to celebrate this momentous event around!"

"There were decorations, strung lights, displayed photographs, a babbling brook, beautiful trees, his brother around the keyboard, and our family and friends."

Another favorite part of the day for Becca was hearing Chris’ especially written wedding vows to her, plus they laughed and cried their way through them together.

"We wanted a naturally bright room. Our venue had floor to high ceiling windows, and only agreed to be a clean, blank slate."

"It was the perfect canvas for all of us to do whatever we wanted, and also the way the venue looked, there only agreed to be no way possible to make it look not beautiful."

After the ceremony, they enjoyed time together around the venue's private terrace, because the space was transformed into a beautiful reception, with round dining tables for guests laid with classic white linens, simple glassware, and gold cutlery, with foliage and candle centerpieces. Becca and Chris enjoyed their meal together at their very own sweetheart table, using the feast thanks to.

"When we awoke the next morning, looking crazy with make-up smudged throughout, messy hair, our after-party outfits still on, we simply snuggled one another tight within our hotel room and relished our amazing wedding day before getting out of bed and starting our day."

"Chris's favorite memory was: 'Waking up at 5 am after a couple of hours of sleep, wearing my tux, and tying an ideal bow tie knot in one try. That, and waiting in front of my spouse reciting my vows to her before all our family and friends.'"
