The first thing after we enter the game is to create a character class. In Phantasy Star Online 2’s new character category, New Genesis, there are 4 characters. When we enter this game, we need to create one. Let’s introduce the characters in this game.

To understand the difference, let’s talk about races and classes first. Phantasy Star Online 2 comes with 4 powerful races with different skills, see them next:

Human - these are the most equilibrated of the game in comparison to the other three races.

Newman - these are synthetic humans that look like fairies, they have low physical resistance, but excellent magic skills. Can be female or male.

Dauman - this is a strong race and how they look depends upon the category. Males appear like huge Gatling guns while women have the aspects of androids. Considering they are big walking weapons, their physical resistance and capabilities of inflicting damage are high, but you will move sluggishly.

Cast - These men appear like demoniac humans. Their physical endurance is low however their power at attack is almost deathly on PSO2.

Thankfully, players don't have to create multiple alt accounts just to experience every Class. At some point in the Main Story, players can go to the Class Counter and change their Class. This allows them to experience the full breadth of New Genesis and its combat mechanics.
