Elden Ring's 1.05 update not only fixes some bugs and tweaks the game, it also gives you runes stored in warehouses a clear value, allowing you to use them wisely according to their value.

Reddit user Theheadofjug specifically flagged this out, and I'm playing Elden Ring at work to Buy Elden Ring Items, as I don't see this in the official patch notes. You can now see what your runes are currently worth.

While this sounds like a small change, it does solve the problem. When you want to buy a weapon or want to upgrade, it will prompt you that you need some more runes, but you don't know how many runes you need to upgrade. This can cause you to use too few or too many runes. As this margin of error widens, so does the character's level.

It would have been better if this changed in the early game of Elden Ring, so that the appropriate runes could be used to upgrade or buy gear. You now understand the value of runes, and you can consume the appropriate runes as you can afford.
