Gareth Southgate has opened up on Jack Grealish in classy fashion after England's 6-2 win over Iran on Monday. The Manchester City star scored his country's final goal of the game in Doha. And he then paid tribute to a young child with cerebral palsy by performing a celebration he'd promised to do.
England were too strong for Iran on Monday, putting in a fine showing as they claimed all three points in their World Cup opener.
Bukayo Saka netted a brace for the Three Lions, with Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Grealish also on target as they cruised to victory.
After his goal, Grealish performed the same celebration he'd promised a young fan with celebral palsy - an illness his own sister also suffers from.
And Southgate, speaking at a press conference after the game, produced a classy reaction by hailing his No 7 for his antics.
While England scored six goals against Iran, Southgate has admitted he felt the game 'drifted' as it went on - much to his disappointment.
