New World is an MMO that recreates the magic of WoW. World of Warcraft has been a successful MMO game, and many games have hoped to replicate its success, but have failed. But New World puts a lot of emphasis on why many players love World of Warcraft, which gives Amazon a game designed to resemble WoW.

two in-game mounts

There are no mounts in New World, while in WoW there are mounts but they are very difficult to obtain. It's a hot topic for a lot of people, and I can see that from both sides of the argument. On the one hand, the mount is a meaningful milestone, a ritual, and an interesting collectible. But if they destroy immersion, it becomes a problem.

Community challenge

If you want to do dungeons in the new world, you have to find someone with you. If you are playing the game with friends, then the problem is solved. Likewise, if you are part of an active company. Another option is to use the in-game chat mechanism to find players to hang out with. Earlier World of Warcraft had a similar system that added a sense of community among players. If you've made friends or joined a guild, you'll be able to join groups more easily, and your reputation will determine whether you'll be invited again.

chance to fight

For many, New World's action combat is another area of contention -- some love it, some don't. On the other hand, World of Warcraft has always had very interesting class identities, so when you create your character you know exactly what you're up against. Of course, if you don't like the playstyle and you can't switch midway through the upgrade process, the classic tab-aimed combat system might not be as fun as New World's, but it's solid and it works.

Although it's still early days, I'll see how New World handles the challenges it faces, and even World of Warcraft has to wait for The Burning Crusade to smooth out some of its rough edges.
