Top Commodities to Prioritize

While the world is filled with Skull and Bones Silver loot, not all of it sells equally well. Some commodities have consistently shown themselves to be more profitable across different markets. These include:

Uncut Gems: Lightweight, rare, and highly valued across regions.

Fine Relics: These antique treasures are always in demand with collectors and traders.

Ivory: A high-value item that can be turned over quickly for large sums.

Vanilla and Frankincense: These luxury items are often in demand in ports that lack access to such rarities.

Other commodities might turn a profit under the right conditions, but these five are nearly always a safe bet when deciding what to trade.
Use the Map: Profiting from Supply and Demand

The economy in Skull and Bones isn’t static. Prices and demand fluctuate based on the regions you explore. Before making any big sales, take time to study your map. When zooming in on a region like The Giant’s Leap, you’ll notice a trading overlay that categorizes commodities into two sections:

In Plentiful Supply: These are common in the region and won’t sell for much.

Highest In Demand: These are scarce in the area, so merchants will pay more for them.

The map won’t reveal this information automatically—you’ll need to explore and unlock these insights by visiting and interacting with ports in each region. Once this data is available, use it to plan your trade routes and avoid wasting time selling low-demand items.
Making the Sale: How to Sell for the Best Price

Once you’ve reached a port with your cargo in tow, you’ll usually find two merchants available:

The Dockside Merchant: Located near where your ship docks, convenient but often offers average rates.

The Inland Camp Merchant: Sometimes harder to reach, but can surprise you with better prices.

Before selling, compare prices between the two. Each item will display a set of arrows underneath it:

Red Downward Arrows: Indicates the item is being bought at a low price—consider holding off.

One or Two Green Upward Arrows: Shows that the merchant is offering a higher-than-average price—go ahead and sell.

This system ensures you’re never flying blind when deciding whether to buy skull and bones boosting unload your haul.
